Our Team
Alyssa Catzman,
M.Ed., R.P.
Psychotherapist and Intake Manager
Alyssa Catzman is a Registered Psychotherapist who provides psychotherapy and executive function coaching to children and adolescents. She helps children develop the emotional and self-management skills they need to approach everyday challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and independence. Alyssa also oversees the intake and referral process to ensure clients are appropriately connected with the clinicians and services that best meet their needs. In addition, she leads community and school outreach, building relationships with schools, professionals, and community organizations to strengthen referral networks.
With a background in both education and psychotherapy, I have worked across school and clinical settings for over 20 years, providing academic, emotional, and social support to children and adolescents.
My favourite part of my work is building strong relationships with children and helping them feel understood and supported. I enjoy getting to know each child, identifying their strengths, and helping them build confidence in their abilities. I find it especially rewarding to see children begin to trust themselves, recognize what they are capable of, and approach challenges with greater confidence.
I truly value the supportive and collaborative environment among colleagues at Wonderwise Psychology. I also deeply align with the clinic’s thoughtful, compassionate approach to supporting children and their families.
My clinical approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship while helping children understand more about themselves and develop practical strategies to manage challenges.
As a child, I wanted to be a teacher. I have always loved working with children, and several teachers I had growing up made a lasting impression on me. That early interest in supporting young people continues to shape my professional path today.
