Melanie Wine, M.A., C. Psych.

Psychologist

Melanie Wine is a School Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has been working within the private and public school board systems in Ontario for the past 25 years providing assessment, consultation and counselling services to students from Kindergarten through High School. Melanie has provided comprehensive evidence based assessments to assist families and school staff better understand and address the unique learning, social, and emotional needs of children and youth; counselling, consultation and psycho-education for families and school staff to enhance their understanding of the impact of mental health on learning; and crisis intervention and support related to suicide, traumatic events, and the threat of violence.

Melanie is offering assessment services to help provide insight into the mental health, learning, social and behaviour strengths and needs of children and youth for the purpose of assisting with intervention and programming, as well as information regarding the impact of learning challenges on well being, and the impact of mental health challenges on learning. Melanie also provides therapy for children and adolescents, as well as parent consultation and coaching. She focuses on evidence-based treatments such as CBT, ACT, and DBT to support presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, OCD, anger/emotion regulation, and social functioning.

Melanie graduated from the School and Child Clinical Psychology Program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto in 1998. Prior to this, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Bachelor of Education from York University. She worked in the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic at Markham Stouffville Hospital, and at Integra Foundation with children with learning disabilities complicated by issues related to mental health.
